RYLA Code of Conduct

Students whose conduct is unbecoming at any time or who break any of the conference rules, at the discretion of the conference officials, will be dismissed from the conference and will be sent home at their expense.

  1. Students are to respect organizers, facilitators, speakers, and fellow students in the spirit of leadership and cooperation. 
  2. Conference T-shirts and ID will be provided. Conference T-shirts must be worn at all times outlined on the schedule. Conference identification must be visible any time when the student is participating in the program. 
  3. All attire must be respectful and reflective of your role as a future leader. We retain the right to determine the inappropriateness of any outfit and you will be asked to change immediately. 
  4. Participants are not allowed to bring vehicles to RYLA. Usually, transportation is provided by a family member, however some students carpooling with other RYLAns from their area, and some seek assistance from their local Rotary Club. 
  5. Any student requiring the use of ANY medicine must have disclosed this need during RYLA Online Student Registration or on the medical history & information form brought to check-in prior to attending the conference. 
  6. No tobacco products, drugs, cannabis or alcohol are allowed on campus premises. 
  7. Students must be punctual to all scheduled events. Participation is a must. 
  8. Students must remain on the FSU Campus for the entire Friday, Saturday, Sunday program including the entire closing ceremony. Exceptions will not be made. 
  9. Upon the return to the dorms, students must remain in their suites until the breakfast call. Students may not enter a suite that has not been assigned to them. 
  10. Students agree to honor all “lights-out” policies.  Students will remain entirely in their rooms with the lights off during “lights-out”.  Talking and noise should not be heard outside the students’ room during this time. 
  11. If a participant feels unwell or exhibits virus-like symptoms during RYLA, they should visit, or may be asked to visit our first aider/nurse for an assessment. 
  12. Visitors, parents, guardians and guests are not permitted at the RYLA program, except during check-in and at the closing ceremony. 
  13. The Conference Officials have the discretion to terminate a student’s stay at any time, should the need arise.
